Local Schools

Many of the children who attend Pitton Pre-School go on to school at either Pitton Primary School, Winterslow Primary School or St Andrew's Primary in Laverstock.  However, many also go further afield, including Salisbury and Amesbury.  We have included links here to schools that children often go to.

All the schools will welcome a visit from prospective families, and most hold open days during the summer or autumn terms to enable parents to get a feel for the school in action.

Applying for school places

If your child is 4 before 1 September 2022 (i.e. birthday 1st Sept 2017 - 31st Aug 2018), they are able to start school during the next academic year, starting September 2022. This might be in September or later according to their birth date and parental preference.
(Legally a child has to be in full time education from the term after their fifth birthday.)

Please visit your chosen schools, many of them have open days during the Autumn term.  

You MUST apply for a place.   Applications are handled by the Local Education Authority

If your chosen school is in Wiltshire;
        Applications may be made online from 1st September 2021
        You may apply online www.wiltshire.gov.uk, download a form, or collect one from the school or pre-school which has to be posted back to County Hall, Trowbridge.
        Applications must be made by midnight on 15th January 2022.
        Offers will be posted out on 16th April (National offer date)

If your chosen school is in Hampshire;
        Please check the Hampshire website as the application process is different according to whether you live in Hampshire or another county.
        Applications can be made from 1st November 2021
        You may apply online www.hants.gov.uk, or collect a form from the school.
        Applications must be made by 15th January 2022.
        Offers will be made on 16th April (National offer date)
